Election Commission of India has been declared 2013 year as Voter Enrollment Year and new Election Photo Identity Cards (EPIC) designed on the lines of credit/SMART cards will be given with color photographs of voters from this year.
As per new Orders to officials to issue EPIC cards within one month to online applicants through A.P. Online, Mee Seva and eSeva centers. Existing EPIC card-holders can also take fresh cards with color photographs in place of the black and white cards by paying a nominal fee.
The Election Commission of India has directed collection of the latitude and longitude of around 10 lakh polling stations in the country and their synchronization with Google Maps. The details of 67,000 polling stations in the AP State would be placed on the EC website soon.
As like every year practice this year also Booth-level officials would take up door-to-door verification in June-July months and issue slips containing details of the family members. The family concerned should check for any discrepancies and return the slips to BLOs and they would rectify any errors.
